Thanks. Eagerly awaiting the demo.

Hopefully not too much longer now (1-2 weeks tops I would imagine) - finishing up the documentation, assembling final builds of code, packaging up into installers, finishing web site. All the drudgery-but-necessary type stuff!

Making it a plugin would be cool. It does work fine standalone, at least in my configuration, but having it integrated via VST (or AU) would be good too.

I wrote a ChucK Klee and Jan and others wrote some G2 Klees some time ago. These pale in comparison to the software Klee under development, but they are free for anyone. See the Software Klee thread in the ChucK forum for the ChucK Klee. Enjoy!

Hehe, I'm sorry Jan! I was just trying to complement Dan, the author of the new commercial software Klee. Any Klee is a good Klee, I say!

Hi everyone -- re: other software Klee implementations, I'm afraid that I've not been able to even *try* any of them; I don't own a G2, ComputerVoltageSource module or Numerology, and so I couldn't try the ones on those platforms, and though Les did try his best to get his ChucK-based one running on my machine, we were unsuccessful (probably something with my ChucK install, not with his code).

That's one of the funny things about my software Klee; I built it without ever touching or using a Klee in any form; I only read Scott's excellent "Know the Klee" document as a reference, watched a lot of YouTube videos, and read this whole forum basically! When I first approached Scott, I was actually very nervous that I had completely botched some of the features because I misunderstood how they were supposed to work!

I've been slowed down in the past week because I and one of my kids has been under the weather (flu?), plus the day job getting in the way... But my hope is that by next week or so, I should have everything ready. Biggest hurdle left is to finish the documentation, which for something like the Klee I think is quite important, so people understand the concepts and the features.

Stay tuned!

Best,
Dan

Dont worry Dan, was just teasing Les a bit - I'm hearing some good stories about your implementation (and none bad). I never saw a real Klee either and, like you, built a G2 thingie from Scott's docs, it's a fun thing for sure Smile

Hope your kid will be well soon, and good luck on your Klee!

http://electro-music.com/forum/post-90461.html - there might be some more ... when you click on the patch count below my avatar you'll get a list of the patches I posted here ... then CTRL+F for Klee should do the trick.

great work, dan! i love it.

the incorporation of VSTi host functionality would be the firecracker.

what if i buy it now, would i cover upgrades then?

Yes, that's definitely on the list for future versions. Won't be tough to do either, considering the Max/MSP underpinnings.

I can't make promises yet since I don't know how extensive the updates will be in the next version. I can tell you that in general with my other software I've been very generous with updates - either free, or a very small amount. For my other products, the update cost plus original cost has always been less than waiting to buy the later version... So it has paid to get in early. Wink

Thanks to all those who have purchased already!

For all of you (and even those who have not yet) - it would be really great if you could post some YouTube videos of the sequencer in action, so that there is more content available out there (other than my quick and quite lame demo), to give people an idea of what is possible with it...

Each time I sit down to make more examples, I end up spending hours just playing, and never get anything done!

Yes - at least using Live, which was my primary testing DAW... When I start/stop the transport in Live, the start/stop in the Klee is controlled....
