Looks good Luka!
Looks as if the "Range" switch is yet to be sourced. That was the last hole I filled on mine. I put a six position switch in there cause I had one, although I'll get an eight next time I order parts. Have not really missed those two extra positions so far... but...
The panel wiring was not so tedious as I expected - take your time and enjoy the build.

Luke,
you are a machine!
I'm yet to complete any of the projects I've bought bits for over the last few years; I just don't seem to be able to find the time. The big shame is that I have some partially bread-boarded designs that I'm some of the folks here will like but haven't had the chance to finalise them.
Have you got a recent pic of your modular as it stands at the moment?
Cheers,

I'd like to see one too!
So far I haven't got the motivation for a second Klee - but I can certainly see the attraction....

matthias luckily the knobs came with the switches
i bought them at allied electronics
yeah adam it has taken a fair bit of work to get where i am. i have no idea how people produce modules quicker. i suppose living close to parts suppliers like mouser helps, unlike us who have to bulk up our orders for projects only to find they missed parts and need to wait another few months to make another order.
i just cut out the pcb support plates for my next batch of modules so once they are on i might take some photos to show them all together
thanks for the props, i really have to give all the props to lazertran. it is such an awesome method, and also my tricky camera angles which don't show any of the imperfections caused by scratches from the aluminium filing when im drilling the holes.
** edit, in the effort of not overcrowding the thread with pictures of my builds i added the pics of my system on my blog. check em here http://cycleofproblems.blogspot.com/2009/10/progress-thus-far.html
click on the photos for close ups. man i love my gf's camera _________________ problemchild

nothing fancy - just paint.
ive tried chemical oxidising before (i meen on other panels), but you can only get it in black, and it doesnt actually work that well (or at least i havent got it to work that well)
i have an old engraving book which talks about "cold wax" infill, which, one day, i would like to try (but its more for larger work)
to do the wax infill, the panel is cut in the usual way, and then heated, and wax melted into the cuts.
the whole surface is then ground / buffefd to remove the excess wax, and flatten the whole surface, but then the finish on the wax wouldnt look nice, so its then heated again (ensuring the panel is level) to restore the gloss to the wax.
you can imagine that, on large panels, with big letters, that would look superb. not really the one for synth panels though... _________________

Im eager to see the finished item : )
edit: they were not my design, but Erik's (the owner) |
One of them is mine.
But it was Erik who designed them.

Wow...thanks for all the nice praise!!
I´ll take some pictures and upload when I´ve finished it. Just waiting for the big buchla knobs (I designed this only cause I wanted to use a big blue buchla knob) and some middle size skirted ones.
I will share the fpd with anyone who is interested when I have tried it some. |

Hehe...
A couple of people have asked me for coppies of the panels, and i have had to explain that the design is not mine, and i will not replicate the panel without permission.
So, there are people waiting on your approval! : )
Im sure people will be watching your progress. _________________
