Nm1 problem with "lost conect" |
 |
|
hello all
I am a freshman in nord modular but I have a background in synths. This is first time when I have problem with some connection. After I conected modular with pc and i start ediot i see current patch loaded but after few seconds there is a error with such notification:
"lost contact. Open MIDI dialog and enable port again"
Do You know where is problem. I guess that can be a midi interface ( I use Emu Xmid1X1 which is somwhere in this forum recomended ).
Great thanks for any support... |

I assume the Midi interface is in the two dedicated 'PC' in and out.
Is the MN <> PC the only Midi data send and received by the Emu Xmid1X1?
Could there be a Midi Through setting active?

| I do not think that any other signals are transmitted. This interface is very simple so there is only Midi IN and Midi Out cables and USB , there is no Midi Through. I am not sure how to event check that only midi data are transmitted. Do You know how to check it? |

This is a hard one.
Is there by any change more Midi gear or just this one? Maybe some CuBase...?

checked your midi cables? does it work with a sequencer program and your nord? (just midi in then, not pc) maybe you can go to somebody else with your nord and midi device and test it there. or...try an other midi device from somebody else?
i have it occasionaly but it is not common. mostly reastablish the connection works for me. i don't know your midi device. i use a very cheap midiman with free updated vista drivers.

| Currently I have E-mu Xmidi1x1 and yesterday for few minutes was good. I checked cables are fine. The midi interface is new ( from shop and I did not pay yet so I can exchange for other:)) But I would like to be sure what kind of cheap interface is good enough. I have macbook pro with leopard and XP SP2. For me most important for now is to have connection with NM1...thanks for support. |

Hi, geometria! I confirm the problem with E-mu Xmidi 1x1. It constantly looses it's bloody connection with NM1.
I sold it and bought my new midisport 2x2, and now it's all OK!
Cheers!

Wout | All drivers are available for downloading at m-audio website, goto: http://www.m-audio.com/forums.html?do=support&tab=driver and choose midisport series, your model and OS.
