Well all being well.

Actually it is a H3000SE upgraded to H3000D/SE spec, should be getting it next week some time.

Any users on here?

Any things to test? Check for?

Cool things to do with it? Best Presets? Best Algos?

I've heard that the transformers generate a fair bit of acoustic noise, anyone found a cheap/expensive way to reduce this?

Really looking forward to some pro grade effects, I'll probably be selling a few bits n pieces if it all works out (Elektron MD SPS1, Boss VF1, Jomox M Resonator, Alesis 3630 and others) but I'll probably save that till after xmas, when folks start having some money again.

Cheers

Ross

I also got one recently in a trade, the original H3000 version, but I haven't gotten too deep into programming it yet. Yes, the transformers are loud, and the 2 second lag in program change sucks, but it's an awesome sounding machine. I thought about upgrading to the D/SE version, but Eventide charges $700 for these 4 chips, which is just outrageous.

People looking for a cheap alternative should consider an Ensoniq DP/4. Both are a quality, early digital, slightly crunchy, sound. I've been using it for contrast to warm analog stuff, balancing out a mix. It cuts right through that sound using any of the algorithms. Lorie Anderson's "Superman" is a good example of how it can sound on vocals

Well i've got my baby now and it rocks, the reverbs are great and full of character. I have also heard good things about the Dp4. Had a quick play with the modular routing but got confused and backed off, I'll get there but for a first nights play it seemed very intuitive for an old machine and the between the keys, keypad and the dial pretty easy to use.
