I've just started experiencing problems with my rack or editor.

When I start up the editor, the NM shows the Error in the LCD, and the Editor pops up a dialogue that says an exception occurred in the synth.

I've power cycled the rack a few times, sometimes this clears the error , sometimes it does not.

I've restarted the editor several times. .

I've been using the Sequencer 303 from Techno Toys to run the NM. Yesterday I had 3 instances of it running, and was sequencing on 3 different channels.

SO I closed the sequencer, power cycled the NM, and restarted the Editor.

After several iterations of this, I was able to get the editor running and the rack, without the exception.

I'm sure some of you know what the problem is as well as a workaround.

I'm running XP, SP2, 512MB ram, Dell Inspiron 8000, Midiman Midisport 2*2 interface, with latest usb/midi driver from midiman.

Does anyone have any suggestions ?

It's a darn shame that clavia bailed on us and and left us hanging with their design bugs.

From what I remember I could get 'error' in the display on two occasions.

- by sending it data with errors on the PC port (when trying to make my own patch loader).

- by having a corrupted patch as the startup patch.

Your hardware should be able to work flawless, if not already done so maybe try to set the editor into windows 98 compatibility mode (right click on the application icon in "Program Files/Clavia/Modular Editor 3.03") - some people seem to need that setting on XP.

Tried right clicking, there's no option for W98 compatibility.
But this does seem like a good option to try, if I can find it.

It seems as though I had only installed the updated NM303 editor, originally.
I've downloaded the installer, and now have aprogram group for the nM editor, and I can right click and get the compatibility option now.

Not sure why It wasn't there with just the plain exe before.
