Hello,
I'm trying to build the Ken Stone's Steiner Filter. I built an earlier revision of the board and really liked it. I decided to build another one and ordered a new PCB.

Apparently this is version 1.2 of the PCB. I'm having some trouble with this one. Sad

I'm confused about the resonance section. There are three pads on this board, instead of the two pads provided on previous boards and the schematic up on Ken's site.

There are also a number of additional capacitors on the board.

When I power it up, I receive signal through the filter for just a half second. It almost sounds like one of the caps is charging up and stopping the sound from getting through.

Has anyone built this revision of the filter?

Thanks all.

haven't built it

but can see two extra caps.
I assume the 47pF will be to prevent the output opamp oscillating. You could leave it off and install it if you find you need it.

The res pot now has three connections as there is 10uF cap across two of them. Steiner res pots are well known for being noisy/scratchy - "they all do that, sir".
read once it was due to DC voltage running thru the pot, maybe the cap is there to minimise this?
