Following up from Ed Rex's fine suggestion, I bring you Build Pix 2010! Very Happy

On suggestion from Dennis, here is a link to the end of the original 2009 thread Very Happy

To start the thread with a laugh (and a sort of cheep bottle of Spanish bubbly, so to speak....sorry fellow em'ers from Spain!), this is my feeble attempt to build a simple steady hand game with my 6 year old daughter this afternoon, only to find the friggin buzzer ist kaput!! Shocked Laughing

Of course this image will be followed with many pages of awesomeness only ever seen gracing the pages of the best EM site in the world, electro-music.com! Cool

A quick look and I really thought it was a PCO board! The component placement are almost the same. But the tempco gave it away... Smile

Nice build!

I had a beat up Jen SX1000, a truly dreadful synth, but the case was the perfect size. I had the panel made by Front Panel Express (currently looking for a cheap screen printing company).

Everything is identical to the Oddy except for the envelope generators, I had problems getting 1Meg 30mm sliders needed for the original design, so I opted for a couple of CEM3310 ADSR's so I could use 100k sliders instead.

The keyboard is from an M-Audio controller, feeding a Midimplant CV converter, so I can switch from keyboard to external midi control whenever I want... not duophonic though, but I can live with that.

I've got to find time to recover the case in tolex, but I've also got some brown leather left over from renovating my MkIII Odyssey, so I'll slap that on the sides as a token gesture, then probably flog it on ebay Very Happy

Andy.

Do you know, I have had exactly the same idea with a Soundlab coupled with an SNvoice, in the case of my SX1000. But there's one problem, I LIKE the Jen!! It's not a bad synth at all! Very Happy

Hi folks.

New power supply for my modular system finished providing ....
+ & - 12V (1.5A per rail) for the main modular/ 32 modules.
+ & - 15V (1A per rail) for the poly-dac & Klee sequ. & others to be built.
+ & - 9V (1A) for soundlab ++ & WSG with 8 step sequ.

No regulators on the board yet, they are mounted on big alum heat sinks and fly leaded to the vero/perf board with thick stranded wire.

Big 3A rectifier sorts the modular supply and a smaller 1.5A rectifier does the 15V & 9V supplies.

This is the last 18 months or so. I am a terrible front panel thief.
Hope nobody minds. I had it in a diy dotcom box and have moved it into this freedom furniture cupboard. I'm still trying to work out how to make it look nice.

matthias.... what a wonderful looking sequencer , i'm really tempted with this when you give the green light for the boards, very impressive.

2010 is just one month old and already I have completed my two most ambitious projects to date.

many thanks to uncle krunkus for such a great stripboard layout for the DS7 and everyone else for inspiring me to get of my arse and finish some projects.

Some of you are wondering why this DIY-lookin VCO is floating in space. Well, intergalactic space is where the sound of a Thomas Henry VCO sends your mind.

Thanks to Tim and Magic Smoke, I finished my first module of 2010, the TH-101 VCO. The wooden platform and labeling is temporary. The lack of connectors is not (I will never learn! spaghetti wires rule!)
It will eventually go into my cabinet which I'm expanding. My setup is mostly MFOS and CGS. This is my first Thomas Henry design. This module version by Magic Smoke is absolutely amazing.
