i have searched though all the other threads here and haven't seen anyone with the same problem. i haven't calibrated the analog board yet, and am stuck in the startup checks in the build doc.

when all my pots are counterclockwise, sequencing with one bit active on the seventh rotary switch setting, i get a few small variations in voltage out of the outputs. i have to turn the pots halfway up before they start to affect voltages. also, glide doesn't work on any of the outputs.

any suggestions on where to start looking would be much appreciated

Hi!

This could be more than one problem, but here's some things to look at.

U7 on the analog board is the scaler. Check the voltage reference coming from the 10V regulator U5. That should be 10V on pin 3. Each of those trimpots should be at the voltages indicated. Assuming they are, the next place to look would be U6, pin 1. I'm guessing that the voltage reference is not where it should be, offhand, especially if you aren't getting anything from the variable range pot (anything significant anyway). See page 2 of the analog board schematic for this section.

The glide is U8, U9, U10, but remember the glide pot works backwards, meaning when you have it clockwise, there is no glide. I'd say fix the max voltage references first, so that the step mix outputs from U8 and U9 pin 1 are working as expected.

Hope this helps.

thanks edisonrex. i posted prematurely. after checking the voltages like you recommended with everything looking ok, systematic elimination of the easy stuff (weird linear pots hooked up wrong, glide output switched with direct out) got me there, but i appreciate your reply. i have a video uploading to vimeo right now, i'll post it when done - another klee is born!

Shocked

My glide pots don't go backwards!
How did you manage to do that Edison?

(Ah,.... Glide Slow/Fast, as compared to Glide Short/Long,.... okay. Wink )

Did you write that part of the manual? Laughing It had me confused back when I built and tested too.
