This show was quite good! I rehearsed my performance for the Shimmering concert to be aired this Saturday, which included Boolean Sequenced Karplus Strong voices, a thunderstorm, and reading Genesis Chapter one in Latin and English into a demonic vocoder and an AGC feedback delay loop. OK that's a lot to say, anyway got a great reaction from the chatroom listeners. This one is worth a listen for sure.

Oh yes, Jez, the demonic sound is made by feeding a pitch shifter back on itself with shift of 0.9 and gain of 0.85.

Les

p.s. thanks!

Damn, I missed it,.. Sad (didn't know there was a show)
but luckily it's available for download so I can listen to it later.

"Reading Genesis Chapter one in Latin and English into a demonic vocoder and an AGC feedback delay loop"
sounds like an interesting show Les Twisted Evil .

Hope you enjoy or enjoyed the recording, PHOBoS.

For this week's show I have a really fun idea. Sunshine will hopefully be on the show and I'll set up the Boolean Sequencer and Karplus Strong software as well as the Karplus Strong hardware and let her adjust the sliders and knobs for us. We will talk over the music too. If Sunshine doesn't show I'll do that myself.

For a preview of what this will sound like, hear my Shimmering concert performance which is posted in this thread:

http://electro-music.com/forum/topic-40002.html

Should be a fun time so try to hear it live or recorded!

Les

This week's show was great fun. We started 15 minutes early and Sunshine was on the show. We talked about various things and as promised I let Sunshine work the controls on the software and hardware, making some interesting sounds.

On this show I played some music and discussed the Flute physical modeling board that I have started working on and finished up with more music. It was a good show.

This was a funny, relaxing show. We kranked up some spacey background music then went on a Schmooze of Chainmaille web sites mostly staying on topic, even when Rob discovered Chainmaille bikinis which caused some excitement in the chatroom, lol. Was a good show, worth a listen.

Tonight's show was a lot of fun to do! It was a full moon so there was lots of energy flying around if you believe in that sort of thing. Anyway, I talked about all kinds of projects, em10 festival and Lunetta workshop, the Credit Card Synth, etc. etc. etc. This might have been one of the best Les Hall shows ever, so give this one a listen!

Last night's show was fun. It was my first official broadcast from Second Life to electro-music radio. I invited some guests to Honalee and two of them spoke during the show, Zandor and Glob. If you like virtual reality or online games, you'll enjoy this show.

This Thursday the show will feature another Second Life broadcast only this time there will be more music. Zandor says he will try to attend and as it turns out he's a guitar player, so he would like to treat us to a little live guitar. I'll jam on my dual BSKS prototype, and Glob might join us and jam as well. Also there will be a guided tour of my new island rental property, Cherry Lane. Should be a good show, so tune in for some interesting listening!

This was a kick ass show. I played the brick then previewed the collaboration album then played the brick some more. Skip over the gap in the middle, otherwise a nice show, enjoy!

Well the Les Hall Show is not dead yet, it just took a loooong break! Now i do an occasional impromptu show and I'll try to post recordings of such here for you. This is a netlooping jam that I performed recently. I ran across it by accident while perusing my iTunes collection and listened, it's funny. Enjoy!

Here is a station Id that I created using ChucK vocal processing that sounded like a bad radio link. It reminded me of the old Apollo moon missions, so I dug up a transcript from the NASA archives and created this station ID. Fun!

This Friday, 8-12-2011 at 5pm EST, we will be bringing back the Les Hall Show as an amateur radio glimpse into my personal experience as an electronic music circuit designer here at electro-music.com

The show will feature a tour of a few threads in the Lunetta subforum, including the following threads:

http://electro-music.com/forum/topic-49054.html

and

http://electro-music.com/forum/topic-48896.html

These threads relate to Lunetta percussion circuits, both of which are original creations of imagineers here on the site. The first is one of those accidental successes and the second was more of a planned creation.

I will be playing audio samples directly off of the threads themselves and referring to schematics posted in the threads as well. As a special bonus, this introductory show will be two hours long so we will have time to actually solder two modifications into one of the circuits to improve it's operation. I will even provide a glimpse into the stream of consciousness of myself doing the repairs for your curiosity and enjoyment.

Also please note that I have received full permission to use the materials for the show so nobody will have any objections to the content (or so I hope).

Future shows will involve ChucK programs, Lunettas, eChucK circuits, and basically whatever I personally get involved with here as a member of the electro-music.com community. So it will be primarily an adventure into the experience of one of our folks, namely myself.

So kick back, relax, and get ready for some techie talk and interesting music samples. You may even learn a thing or two, possibly leading to inspirations of your own. As we say on the radio: "See you on the other side!".

Les

This two hour return special of the show turned out pretty well. It gets off to a slow start as I was distracted by chat and a loud monitor but once I got into the groove things went well. Hope you enjoy it!
