Whenever someone types electro-music in a post, it is automatically styled in blue and italics. How is that done? A client of mine wants essentially the same thing. Shocked

It's gotta be jQuery, but I can't see where it's being loaded. I found this:

Its a bit of extra code Howard (mosc) programmed into the forum PHP code, when some special words are seen BB tags are added around it ([i][b][color=???]) to make the effect ... not sure if he does it on posting or when the page is being served out though ... on posting would be less work I'd say for the system.

Anyway, this code will not be visible by looking at the forum from the outside.

To see the exact BB codes that were added you could edit, or reply to, your first post here.

Yeah, the code is inserting span tags for each of the css elements, and since there's no .js file listed in the source code for jQuery, 'tis indeed PHP.

I think I'll be able to do this via jQuery. My department does a strict security audit before a site goes live, and they urge us to avoid custom PHP code whenever possible. We use the Drupal CMS.

In any case, it's been hard to find code for styling a specific word online, so it's quite clever to me! Cool
