Hello,
Thanks a lot for your answer.
Why do you call it eardrill?
Also, do you know the thickness?
I already used for a sequencer a material which is called Alunox.
Which kind of material Buchla used?
Best regards,

Thanks Teknik!
Well, I didn't know neigther heard anythink about eardrill before that post...
Interesting.
Concerning this Ydrium Material, I really don't know the equivalent name in Europe/France/Germany.
Someone knows it?
It would be the best to find the same material.
Thanks a gain,

hey, thats was a joke, Yttrium is extreme rare, and sometimes they mix it with alluminium to get a strong but lightweight alluminium.
Any alluminium will work, i think trying to have the same brushing is the most importand if u want your panel looks like the original.
They have an epaisseur of 1,5mm |

I already used Alunox in the past, for the midibox sequencer.
see the link following:
http://midibox.org/forums/forums.html?showtopic=8725
The surface is quite fragile to my taste... If a srew driver fall down on the surface, you get a scratch...
By the way, I juste tuned again the sequencer yesterday. With VFD displays and the case is again consolidated...
I add soon some video on youtube of it driving some old stuff.
All the best,

My panels are .062" Aluminum, I think it's a 6061 alloy. Vertical grain brush finish. It would be good to get a sample of a Buchla panel to give your machine shop for grain matching. And before anyone asks, the Pantone color for the blue is 2935.
TekniK, thanks for posting the link. _________________ Chris Muir
