Hiya,

I am new to the forum and in need of some help please!! I am using a godin guitar to control my nord micro modular via an axon ax50. I am trying to control the patch number via midi but seem to be having some problems. Would anyone be able to point me in the right direction as I am pretty useless with that side of things! I have been trying to find lsb? values in the editor as well, but to no joy as I was thinking it could be something to do with corresponding the values form the axon with the modular? Correct me if I am wrong...

any help would be greatly appreciated...

Ta!

hi mojod2010 and welcome to the forum.

I've removed your duplicate message in the G2 section.

To select a patch you'll need to send both a bank select and a patch select command over MIDI, and they'll have to be in the correct order. I don't have details handy here, but will see if I can find info later today (if no one else steps in that is Wink ).

Edit : and the commands will have to be sent to the MIDI channel that the micro has been set to.

Thanks!! That would be brilliant if you could do that. I have tried a few things but no joy and have no idea where it tells me what it has been set to. I am using the mac version editor by the way if that makes any difference?

Cheers again...

Ok .. having it handy now ... what I did for the NM Classic :

first send a bank select message
then send a program change message

A bank select message is a CC message with CC ID 32.
A program change message is a native MIDI message.

The bank select selects the micro's bank to use and then the program change selects the patch to be used from that bank.

You can see what MIDI channel the micro is set to from the editor through the menu/synth/settings. Also in that window you can enable and disable program change message reception and transmission - set it to at least be enabled for reception.
