Your Top 5 Fave Music Tools Subject description: A list of your fave apps to make/edit music on the iPhone/iPod Touch |
|
|
I am always interested in seeing what others use to do their thing, be it music, graphics, etc.
Since this forum is chock full of musically talented and music loving peeps, I thought some of you might have some good apps to share for music creation and editing on the go.
What apps do you find indispensable on the go? _________________ My Circuit Bending Site (Coming Soon)

alienmeatsack, what are your 5 Fave?
My all time fave is Bebot
Also I'm a big fan of Bowls
So far none other would get into that group.
My fave non-musical app is Star Map. I went out last night, a clear sky, and I could identify every star, planet, and constellation I could see. _________________ --Howard

Honestly, I don't really have much experience yet in the portable iPhone/iPoT music tool department. I was hoping to get some insight from others so I could build up a nice library of portable tools.
So far, I've spent some time with technoBox, which I am not a huge fan of GUI-wise. And spent about 6 hours yesterday and 1-2 today playing with Looptastic Producer.
The thing I've used more than anything else is the built in Voice Memos app, to record bits out in the wild for use at home.
I've not tried Bebot, but I keep hearing people mention it. I guess I need to give it a looksee. _________________ My Circuit Bending Site (Coming Soon)

My faves in order:
1. Jasuto Pro + Jasuto (great for weirdness, especially if you use the mic as part of the patch)
2. RJDJ (Daft but fun)
3. Argon (It sounds great, I just wish the sequencer was a little more versatile and easy to program)
4. Synthpond (never really get anything that great out of it but i like it nevertheless)
5. Beatmaker (when I got this I was convinced I would use it all the time and it is good but I find it a bit sluggish on my 3G, need to upgrade and then come back to it.) _________________ iP (Ross)

Mine in no particular order:
Bebot, Jasuto Pro, Sampletoy, RJDJ and NLogSynth
As with Bebot, Jordan Rudess convinced me to buy Sampletoy.
My favourite non-music app is Distant Suns, an other starmapapp. _________________ Muied Lumens Sub Forum

Cool, keep em coming! I like the repeats, those are the ones I will shoot for.
I've got technoBox, Beatbox (didnt even know I did!) and Looptastic Producer so far. The Bebot thing looks fun too!
Currently, Bebot, Jasuto, Beatmaker and RJDJ are in the lead. I've got RJDJ I just never got around to playing with it. Jasuto I will have to check out the plugin in Garageband or something first. _________________ My Circuit Bending Site (Coming Soon)

Trope
Kepler's Orrery
Aura
Jasuto Pro
Curtis Heavy
I have a bunch of others too, but I find them hard to use. Particularly of note of ones I want to do more with is BeatMaker. I've loaded in some sounds but I need to spend more time (hah!) with it. _________________ Garret: It's so retro.

I'm definitely seeing some repeats that I've not checked out yet here.
Beatmaker is just way over my head at the moment. Maybe if I understood it more. I keep going back to Looptastic Producer. I know I can get some interesting results there. _________________ My Circuit Bending Site (Coming Soon)

I have an iPod touch, and both Jasuto and Jasuto Pro works flawlessly on it. What generation touch do you have? _________________ Muied Lumens Sub Forum

Happy to be of help. You will no doubt love it!
BTW, ToutchOSC is indeed a great app. It's a central part of my evolution as an electronic musician. _________________ Muied Lumens Sub Forum
