Nord Stage question layers/morphing Subject description: Help |
|
|
Hello,
I currently am a nord electro 2 user looking to upgrade to the nord stage compact ex. I am under the impression that the following is possible with the stage:
1. Using the layering program, it is possible to assign a midi channel to each of the banks (synth, piano, organ), set the desired sound in each bank, and then play using a separate midi keyboard. In this manner I could play organ on the stage and then either synth or one of the pianos on a separate keyboard.
2.Through the morphing effect, it is possible to hold a sustained organ chord and seamlessly "flow" into a synth or piano sound without a break in sound.
Can anyone confirm this and maybe give me a bit more info?
Thanks!!

Yes, each of the instruments types (piano, organ, synth) can be assigned to a different midi channel and then disable local keyboard for all but one instrument (see the manual).
Concerning morphing I don't think you can use the morph function to sustain a chord. It only operations on the rotary encorders (the ones with the ring of lights). You could use it to lower the volume of the other instruments while maintaining the organ volume. |

Yes you can, with a control pedal!
This is one of the awsome things of a Nord Stage. By addressing the volume rotary knob to the control pedal, you can seamlessly flow with one chord from the organ to the synth by pushing the pedal. |
