One of my pair of VCS blew out this morning, after working A+ from first power and the following month or two. The 10ohm resistor on the positive rail burned up real good. It has been replaced, and I have also swapped a new set of ICs for kicks. So now, on power up in cycle mode monitoring the voltage at the main output, it just rises steadily and slowly from about .5v....very slowly...peaking at just over 9v+ and then just as slowly descending. It takes approx 7 minutes to just go up. This voltage seems far higher than expected as well. the rise/fall have an extremely miniscule effect on the rates as would be expected. Timing cap someplace not being discharged properly??? Very wacky this.

I can find no physical faults, and as I said this has been working perfectly for a good while now.

Any hints where to begin the serious poking would be appreciated.

More interesting than deletion, for the readers, may be to read how you fixed it Cool

Stray wire strand bridged one end of the rise pot and the wiper it seems. It got fried. Replaced. It works again.
