ive been using contact mics on drums to trigger various sounds.

im wondering if it would be possible to detect the frequency (tempo) of incoming signals which could then effect a clock generator to create timed repetitions of a sound / sequence.

any ideas?

Some ideas for tap tempo patches, maybe there is something useful in it :

http://mailman.code404.com/pipermail/nord-modular/2002-December/002912.html

http://mail.electro-music.com/pipermail/nord-modular/2004-September/005214.html

(used ["nord modular" "tap tempo" -g2 -"nord wave"] for googling, there should be more on this, Kess van der Maarel made something as well I tink)

here you go:

http://nm-archives.electro-music.com/010_NordModular/014_Interesting_Threads/Folder/CountTapTempo/CountTapTempo.htm

Simply replace the "keyboard module" by an envelop follower link to your audio output. Take the output of the Envelop follower, link it to a " compare level" module with a value set to 1. Link it to the pulse module.
