Hey Les,
Is it cool for me to share some lyrics here, or is it only for submissions to the collaboration? Maybe I should start my own collection of lyrics in another thread?

It's cool Andy, the thread is not just for the collaboration album. That album is in the process of being released at this time anyway so submissions are closed. I'd enjoy reading your Lyrics!

Les

p.s. ty D.Miniza!

Thanks Les,
I think I'll start my own lyric thread anyway though, as I'd like to get some feedback on some stuff, and I don't want to de-rail this one.

First submission is happening now. Wink

Here's a gritty little thing that I used as part of my "140 BPM Blues" set on today's (or yesterday's I should say) Spring Equinox Event. Thought someone might find it a bit entertaining. Smile

Quote:
Woke Up This Morning

Woke up this morning, I was having a nightmare
I couldn't move, shadows hovered in the air

Woke up this morning, from 5 minutes of sleep
I'd spent the whole night listening to the walls weep

Woke up this morning, you were screaming in my ear
I was kicking your shins and tugging at your hair

Woke up this morning in a room bathing in light
Summer had arrived, looking for a fight

Woke up this morning on a bed of broken glass
An angel was dancing, a devil was checking out her ass

Woke up this morning under a ton of bricks
The earthquake had come, it was time to remember those tricks

Woke up this morning, sleeping on my arms
I couldn't press "snooze", they were just flopping around

Woke up this morning, feeling kind of high
Not really caring that this feeling surely soon would die

Woke up this morning to the high point of the day
After that was a slippery slope downwards slide away

Woke up this morning, then went straight back to sleep
The next time I woke, the room was full of sheep

Woke up this morning and guess who brought me tea
She's from Croatia and her last name ends with "c"

I don't know what's up, OCP is ready to release the album but the French netlabel has not contacted me in several weeks. I'll send an email out. The album will be free, so no cost.

Good news: the album has received 600 downloads in the first week. Those are totals from EdP and do not include the Off&Green totals, whatever they are.

People are excited about this, especially those who contributed, so I thought it would be a good idea to start another album collaboration for electro-music. This time around it is imperative that you submit your songs in a high quality format, either .wav or 320kbps .mp3 format. That was a big issue with the previous album. Apparently netlabels like their music in high quality.

I'll post a separate thread about it somewhere in the near future but I'm not sure where... Schmooze? Online music? eChucK? I dunno. You tell me. Anyway you can always PM me about the album.

Be good you little devils!

Les

Hello again. Here's another song I wrote.

Dear Angeline

Dear Angeline - first time I saw you
you was only seventeen
I was struck as with a spear
Your eyes so green - your hair so wild and tangerine
in the light beam - you was so lean - so feminine
when you did that dance - you got me in a trance
when you shook the tambourine
I didn't have a chance
I had to make advance
I had to get behind the scene

We had a short romance - before you went to France
all those memories remain
I can't forget the pain
when you went on that plane
It was mean - I can't forget that Angeline
you said "I love you so - but I just have to go"
I said "I love you too" - a kiss goodbye and then you flew
then it was over - it was through

Dear Angeline - last time I saw you
it was on the silver screen
ain't it funny now you are
a celebrated movie star
me - I'm just working in a bar
I had ambitions too - with my guitar
somehow I never reached that far

Me and you
somehow I always knew
it was to good to be true
something had to come up between
destiny - well so it seems
still Angeline
still you are with me in my dreams
Dear Angeline
still you are with me in my dreams
