I did a NL3 type unison effect way back. Time to revamp it.

The trouble with the old design was that the delay size used to create the detuned copies of the original voice was arbitrarily chosen, which smeared sharp transients.
In this design, the delay line length exponentially tracks the keyboard and equals one oscillation of the frequency provided by the keyboard pitch control signal, so transients stay tight. So make sure the main oscillator of your patch follows the keyboard pitch signal. (In the NL3, you cannot detune oscillator 1.)
The modulating ranges of the triangle LFOs have to be stretched to the delay size, which however means that the detuning is linear. But by making them track the keyboard too, the detuning becomes exponential as it should be.
The upside of this design is that the LFO speeds and delay lines now vary from voice to voice according to their pitch. This gives a far more lush and complex sound than using a chorus module per voice. The downside is that it is a rather expensive circuit, close to 25% in memory and cycles use.
But I think it sounds great, so... here it is. Smile

cheers,
tim

You are wrong Tim. This doesn't sound like the Nord Lead 3 unison effect. I know because I own one, and I almost hate that effect. I find it unusable for most sounds, because it "washes" the bass frequencies, sounds lifeless and digital.

However this new effect sounds GORGEOUS, thank you very much!

Hm -I don't know now if I should be embarrassed or happy about this. Embarassed Laughing
I don't have any credible information about the way the NL3 does it. It's just the way I would design it if my objective would be to generate 4 detuned copies of an ingoing monophonic synth signal in the best possible way. And since it's been quite while since I owned a NL3, I had no way to corroborate my assumptions. So maybe it was a little bit cocky of me to call it the REAL NL3 unisono effect. Sorry. Embarassed But if it sounds great, well, what else can one ask for? Wink

Don't own a Nord lead, I can't compare, but this one sound really good to my ear. A bit hungry for my unexpanded G2 but I love it.

Thanks to share your patches tim. They always learn me something and answers to my needs.
