How to recreate "Doctor Who" on Guitar

Electro-Harmonix Effectology, Vol.16 "Doctor Who"

In this episode I recreate the original 1963 "Doctor Who" theme using just a guitar and effect pedals.
I also show all the individual pedal settings at the EHX forum listed below.

The entire series can be viewed here:

Thanks for watching!

Hey Bill - quick question....

When the intro story is being told there is a synth-pad type of sound... That's being done with EHX pedals too, right? Is there a diagram of the setup used for that?

Dave

Hi Dave
Thanks for watching and the comments!!!

Yes the intro sound is a HOG pedal in the freeze mode.
I froze a C triad and manually moved the filter slider and various pitch sliders around.
That was run through the Deluxe Memory Boy analog delay pedal with the modulation set to a chorus.
I LOVE that sound!!!!
Thanks for noticing!
Bill

THAT'S cool! So, freeze mode then holds the pitch in place, correct? I guess you also do a loop before hand and massage the sliders while the loop is playing too.....hmmmm Idea

Can the pitch sliders be 'modulated' internally? That would be really neat - having several modulation sources routable to different controls on it...maybe thru midi...

HOG 2.0

Very Happy

It has midi in.
You can modulate any of the expression modes with midi like global pitch ,freeze , filter ect.
Individual sliders you have to open the box and mod it.
Great idea for midi.
It is a very, very cool box.

Excellent version and the origonal maker was a great inovator.
What a great collection of pedals, gotta add up to the price of a big synth, (both are great) Electo harmonix make sweet effects I have used them as a bass player.
If you did not see what was making the music I wonder if many people could work it out?Keys?Strings?.........ElectroFun wow! dalek dalek dalek

WOW Bill, that was great. Also a nice tribute to Delia.

I recently switched my rig over and gone almost completely digital but I have a very old EH Small Stone Phase Shifter that I will NEVER part with.
