After some time gigging regularly with the A6, I was getting extremely frustrated thinking the A6 is just not reliable. I soon realized it was operator error and thought I would share my experiences just in case others might run into the same problem. I would hope others might have similar stories as well.

1st problem.
Sometimes when switching patches in mix mode to a new song, the sounds would be all warbled like the mod wheel was turned up all the way. As I am trying to not freak and turning all the knobs I could find out I eventually had to restart the synth (yes, mid song on stage!, very embarrassing) and things would suddenly work OK. It never happened on the same song. I finally figured out the problem, One of our songs I use the mod wheel on a solo section and at the end of the solo I leave the mod wheel all the way up. Now when we move to the next song, I switch the patch and the mod wheel is still in the up position. If the settings for the new patch do not have the mod wheel kybd cntrl enabled, it will play all the sounds with the mod wheel up and you will not be able to turn the mod wheel down unless you go to the settings and enable mod wheel control. So...yeah, let that be a lesson for ya.
One more.
I use an SRAM Card all the time, I run prgrm and mixes off of the card for the live show especially when we have to rent backline gear. Awesome! but, at one gig, suddenly all my patches are messed and some are not even there. Not good 5 minutes before the gig. SRAM cards use batteries!! I did not know that, but now I do. So, if things go really wrong all of a sudden with the card storage, replace the battery and things will be super happy again. I always carry a battery with me on the road now. I also am going to get the Line 6 midi mobilizer and back up my card on my Iphone so I don't have to worry about any of it any more.
I was ready to give up on the Alesis a few times now, but found I just had not quite learned all the ins and outs as of yet. Probably wont for a long time.
Any other horror stories out there that you found a fix for?

Thanks for the tips.

I ´ve noticed that if I have to close down and start A6 directly again for some reason, after the restart it will hang. The intropage on the display will just keep blinking and I can´t play.

So if I have shut down the A6 and need to directly restart it again, I need to wait for half a minute or so before the restart to avoid problems.

All A6 programming pros, don´t hesitate to put together your best patches and make them available on the Internet! If you´d like to charge a reasonable fee for others to download them, that is fine by me! The more attention and patches and community for the Andromeda, the better!
