Microtonal softsynths for Mac

Let me introduce myself: my name is Andrew and I'm a "mature student" with a passion for synthesizers and computers.
I'd like to experiment with microtuning and VA synths and I'm looking for the best microtonal synthesizers out there.
What microtonal synths are you using on your Macs? I tried the FM8 so far, which sounds good but it's a bit too complex for me to program its patches.

I suggest LMSO.
X.J.Scott, its programmer calls it a "Scale Analysis and Editing Tool" but it also has an internal microtonal synth called Cupcake!

Interesting - but can't find the demo download page. Is there any demo version? Also, what sort of synth is Cupcake (VA, FM, additive, wavetable, other)?
