Hi

Since my G2 has the USB port damaged and i believe it´s going to be very expensive to fix it (new mobo i assume),i was thinking about buy a Nord Micro Modular in order to create some patches on the Editor and then transfer as Sys Ex to my sequencer and from there to my G2 via MIDI.

Is this possible?

Thanks

Hmm .. well .. its not as no as it seems ... there is the python Classic to G2 converter which for many patches seems to give a good result ... then I have made some tool to convert G2 patches into sysex ... and those can be sent to the G2. Mind you .. not all patches will sound the same ... but it could be worth a try.

Another possible way to go would be to use the G2 demo SW to make G2 patches and convert those to sysex.

The patch to sysex tool I think I posted it somewhere ... I don't use it myself Laughing but I guess Gomidas would know more ... otherwise I'll search for it again.

The classic to G2 Python patch conversion tool has it's own subsection here in the G2 forum.

I'm surprised no one else has mentioned this..

http://www.electro-music.com/forum/viewtopic.php?highlight=usb+repair&t=27770

The port itself is probably the weakest link and is replaceable.

I would sure hope that most of the reported G2 USB failures were only due to physically broken USB jacks (ports), but I fear that is not the case. That thread only mentions one successful case of repairing a G2 USB connection problem by replacing the jack… AFAIK, there have not been any other reports of simple USB repairs.
