Hello, I'm new writing in the forum but I read it long time ago. Undoubtedly it is the best forum for A6! Smile

I own an A6, and I've been looking for sounds of dub-tech through subtractive synthesis, but unsuccessfully. I have had more success with the FM synthesis, but for me FM is unwieldy. I have long wondered how these sounds with metallic character's frequently Dub-Techno is made, like dubby chords. Of course I know that the effects are largely responsible for the character for this kind of sound (delay, reverb, phaser, etc) but is A6 able to create these sounds?

Excuse me for my primarily English and thanks in advance for the answers. Wink

Greetings!

You might want to explore the A6's ring modulator for metallic sounds. The A6 is also capable of some FM, though playing FM polyphonically is a little questionable.

The A6's built in effects include most of what you are looking for, but they can be a little unwieldy to program.

I'm not that familiar with Dub, so I can't think of the exact sound you are looking for.

Oh yes, here's an example. So please listen the metallic stab chords at 0:07 it sounds along the track.

Best!

That actually sounds a bit like a vocoder to me, with a fixed formant bank. Definitely has some noise under it, being shaped by the filter. Possibly noise used as a modulation source for the filter.

Reminds me a lot of the vocoded vocals on Kraftwerk's "Autobahn".

I'd say start by turning up the resonance on the filter about half, then use the noise generator as a modulation source for the filter cutoff. I can't remember if you need to set up a Croute for that or not (somebody else remember?). Use the envelope to sharply lower the filter cutoff freq to give the 'stab' part of it.

See if that gets you at least a start.
