Admit it, you guys love him. If not, how come you ended up paying for his roofing extravaganza and rewiring his pad?
Shocked Cool

Quote:
Godsiff also attracted controversy in the 2009 parliamentary expenses scandal, where he was reported as using office expenses for extensive roofing work, rewiring, replacement guttering and even clock repair at a property he owns[3].

Quote:
He incurred the 2nd highest expenses of all 647 MPs' for 2008/2009 with claims for £189,338. [6]

Not to risk getting serious, but her's my experience with the iPad. It's great. Apple service is great too.

My first iPad had a shitty WIFI. I called Apple service. Got a human really fast. Told him my troubles. He told me to reboot and do a few other obvious things which I did. He said I had to take it back to the Apple store. He even scheduled an appointment for me.

When I got there the store was packed with customers. I check in at the front and they called my name at the exact time. I showed the Apple Geek how shitty my iPad worked using http://speedtest.net. He gave me a brand new one, and we tested it right in the store. The new one works very well, compared to my 3GS iPhone and any number of Windows PCs and desktops here.

I had another experience with my original 1G iPhone. This time the screen was pretty much worn out. They gave me a new one right on the spot.

I don't have a Mac yet, but I'm won over to Apple's service. I still have some beefs with them about the iOS policies, and the new iOS 4 is a mess because apps don't die when you close them, but the service is, next to Kyma, the best I've experienced.

I have mostly only Apple Extreme base stations around here. They seem to be pretty good. One cute feature is the mobileme account integration that allows me to remote admin the base stations from the WAN side even though the base stations are behind routers and such.

The current Airport Extreme range is well thought out. They haven´t gone completely overboard trying to stuff silly amounts of features into the units, but instead.. what is there actually works very well and the integration features are quite advanced and solid. Obviously, many of these aren´t that easy to to spot unless you already have some OS X servers and some network admin experience.

Compared to the competition, the Airport Extreme is a late block F-16 and the other guys are still messing with AK-47s made from pots and pans and whatever found in the sewer. Laughing

My wife's 2007 MacBook pro and my son's 2007 MacBook pro have always worked fine with our net gear router. My 2009 MacBook pro and my daughter's 2010 MacBook will not work even in the same room as the router. She lives out west; I plug in. Now I got an airport router. With my new iPad. The 2009 MacBook and the iPad work fine with it, but the 2 2007 machines are very intermittent with the airport extreme, but work fine with the net gear. So now I have the net gear plugged into airport extreme as a node on it's LAN. I don't want to power 2 LANs, but it is the only setup that works with this collection of apple gear.

I've got a similar problem with my late 2009 Mac Mini when it's hooked up to our 32"LG TV, yet the old 1st edition Macbook Pro worked great. The Macbook has now been replaced by an Acer Revo running Windows 7, which although is a very good computer (for the price), has the same problem as the mini has.

It's got to be something to do with the new Intel processors?

For long periods, I've had to live without it, because mostly it's a false promise followed by a slap in the face.

Another bummer, is that my 3G iPhone died today. Or it seems that way. Confused

It will kind of sync, but it's taking forever, the screen won't come on at all, nor can I hard reset it! Crying or Very sad

And to add insult to injury, Rosie is buying herself an iPhone 4 today!

I'll just have to get her to buy another one. Laughing

Actually it's me making false promises to myself.

"Oh goody, here I have me new Wi-fi router set up, nice! Yay my iPod and Mac is connected, let's surf and have fun! Wait, it only stayed connected a couple of minutes... and now I can't connect... * cry * * smash *" etc.

Bummer about your phone - I guess you've tried all the hard reset grips? (I forget what they are)

It wouldn't sync at all. I tried doing a restore, which fortunately seems to have worked- but at the cost of loosing everything- including all my Nanostudio creations Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

fucking technology! Twisted Evil

I'm also trying to set up svn for Unity 3D (a gaming environment)- which is a total headfuck.
Looks like I'm going to have to commit to paying for some server space somewhere (know anywhere cheap? Andy set us up on Beanstalk- which is good, but 100mb max. I need more!! and free!!)

I wish I could use MobileMe for subversion. Any ideas? I'm a complete numpty when it comes to this stuff. Shocked

Have you checked Google Code or Sourceforge for hosting?
