Dato: 1. februar 2005 17.01.22 MET

This is to publicize a full-time two-year Research Fellowship at CHARM, the
AHRB Research Centre for the History and Analysis of Recorded Music
(http://www.charm.rhul.ac.uk) at Royal Holloway, University of London; the
appointee will work on a computational project involving the analysis of
large numbers of recordings of Chopin's Mazurkas. Here's the brief
description:

<<The Research Fellow will work with Professor Nicholas Cook on
computational analysis of recordings of Chopin's Mazurkas. Expert knowledge
of the principles and practices of computational music analysis is essential
(preferably including the Humdrum Toolkit), and the appointee will have
completed or be near to completing a doctorate in a relevant area. This is a
full-time, fixed-term appointment for two years from April 2005.>>

The deadline for applications is 1 March and further information is
available at http://www.rhul.ac.uk/personnel/ads/musicJan05.html; additional
details about the Research Centre and the project are at
http://personal.rhul.ac.uk/unwm/124/Centre_project.doc.

I would be grateful for your assistance in bringing this opening to the
attention of potential applicants. I am of course happy to answer any
question about it. Thanks for your help and sory for any cross-posting.
