Hello... my Andromeda and my new Mac aren't getting along.

I can use A6 Banker and/or A6 Librarian just fine on the PC. The A6 has never had a problem with either app.

I'm trying to switch my studio over to the Mac, and I came across an app called Sysex Librarian. Looks nice on the surface, thought it lacks the specificity to the A6 that the PC apps have.

Anyway, whenever I send a sysex file to the A6 using Sysex Librarian (a bank or a single program), the A6 locks up. The transfer completes, and the current sound still plays, but as soon as I change patches, it locks up completely. A reboot does nothing. Seems like the user memory is corrupted. I have to do a soft reset just to get the synth working agian.

I've emailed the developer of Sysex Librarian and he didn't have any troubleshooting info to offer. I've also tried using MIDI Quest, but that's one of the worst applications I've ever had the misfortune of using! Nonstop crashes and an interface left over from the 1990s.

Any tips on troubleshooting the lockups with Sysex Librarian? Or any recommendations on a Mac app that can rename and reorganize patches on the A6? I need to get this figured out soon.

Just wanted to add that I tried Elektron's C6 app for sending sysex. The A6 also locks up after receiving a patch from this app. So it seems like the problem is the MIDI interface (which is a brand new TC Electronic Impact Twin). Great...

I'd still like to hear any recommendations for a Mac librarian for the A6. I'd be happy just to send patches to the A6 at this point but I'll get this sorted out eventually, and when I do, it would be nice to find a librarian utility.

did you ever try to reduce transmitttion speed in sysex.app ( it's under preferences when you open the programm.
you can also increase the lockouttime , to max 1 sec
?

Thanks, I did try changing the transmission speed.

The issue turned out to be my TC Electronic Impact Twin interface. Or more specifically, using the Impact Twin on my Mac.

Everything works fine when I use the Impact Twin on my PC (in a reversal of the normal situation, where the PC botches everything).

Unfortunately TC has provided their latest software and claims that they don't know what the issue is. I'm waiting for a new version of the Mac driver, I guess. Until then I just have to boot up my PC to do any patch management on the Andromeda (which is inconvenient).
