Hey folks,
I just got a hold of a couple of these little gems. It's the ISD1420 Record + Playback chip that comes with a nice PCB to help get it working.

Here's the datasheet

http://www.datasheetcatalog.com/datasheets_pdf/I/S/D/1/ISD1420P.shtml

Link in New Zealand to where to get them:

Pretty interesting stuff since the memory is nonvolitile. I'd like to try to make use of them with my noisemakers to get all percussive about it.

Really good as they have non volatile memory, not come across these before. Looks like they are mainly designed for speech as anything above 3.3khz is filtered out, will be fine for drums and anything below that frequency though.

There's a project I did a good few years ago on my archive site:
http://www.bugbrand.co.uk/bugbrand_old/pages/electronics.htm
scroll down to near the bottom.

Repitching and randomisation. Though I always found the ISDs a bit clunky so never progressed to far into them. 1416 and 1420 are basically the same, just with different rate internal clocks and filtering.

Thanks Bugbrand! I'll have a look.
I'll have to look into that pedal Shawn I hadn't heard about it, cheers.
