Here goes my set Smile

Will upgrade some info about it later Smile

I was afraid editing the post could imply to upload the file again, so the info about the set (and some photos), go in this post instead.

I used an Hartmann Neuron, two Nord Modular G2X (one for sequence duties which also made some percussive sounds and the other for some filtered drones), a Yamaha CS15 (processed by an Ibanez AD202), a Korg Trident (processed by a Roland SRE555) and a Roland V-Synth (only used patch 25 from OS2.0, V-Bamboozled), as well as a Novation Supernova II (rack) and a Novation Super Bass Station, both sequenced by one of my G2Xs.
I connected my Korg Polysix to one of the G2Xs but I don't think it was working ok (I was having some power failures, so only decided to turn that on a while before the concert and didn't have enough time to check it properly), so it was virtually unused.

All these synths were then connected to my Korg Zero 8 (from which I only used the Loop Delay effect on my Hartmann Neuron).
The Zero 8 Send 1 was connected to my Roland R880 which was used to add some reverb.

The mp3 file was captured by an Edirol FA101 and recorded in Garage Band, while the stream was captured by my Roland SP606 and streamed over Edcast.

Here are some photos I took today (the setup looks the same as two days ago Razz).

Hope you enjoy the mp3 Smile

Here's my set from the NYE 2011 event. Basically consisted of my laptop running Reaper as a live host with Atmosphere (used for the intro soundscape), Absynth, Stylus RMX (drum sequence towards the middle) and three instances of Thesys step sequencer - two driving RGC audio Triangle 1 synth (a freebie!) for the bass sequences and one driving NI FM8 for the 'harpeggios'. I processed my Chapman Stick thru NI Guitar Rig. My K2000 was used to control Atmosphere, Absynth as well as it's own sound (flutes, all of the pads except for the Atmosphere one). Stream was captured by Edcast as a .WAV file. I edited the tails and added a bit of compression before making an mp3 at 192kpbs for upload.

Thanks to everyone for the kind comments! I was quite nervous about pulling this off, being my first solo stream-cast. Smile

Hi. Here is my improvised set from New Years Eve. This list indicates the modules that I showcased in the various sections of the set:

00:00 Voltage-Controlled Ring Modulator (fonitronics)

09:30 Karplus-Strong VCO (Les Hall) and Klee Sequencer (Scott Stites)

20:45 Super-Psycho Modulation Source (Ken Stone - CGS)

27:00 Wave Multiplier (CGS) joined by the Bi-N-Tic filter at 36:00

38:00 Bi-N-Tic Filter (CGS) with Klee Sequencer (Note: I did NOT use a phaser on this track -- you are hearing the Bi-N-Tic)
43:00 The Mega Percussive Synthesizer (Thomas Henry) joins in a plays a drum solo, of course! Smile
45:15 Pulse wave processed through the "Grinder" (CGS) with Aries VC Low-Pass filter

48:50 Modulo Magic (Ken Stone - CGS) with the Klee Sequencer

56:00 Reprise with the VC Ring Modulator and some other sounds, too.

Besides what you heard, many new modules were in use:

The Yusynth (Yves Usson) Quad Voltage-Controlled panner was used throughout.

Also, used Yusynth Logic and Clock Dividers.
Used a pair of Voltage Quantizers from MFOS (Ray Wilson) -- not to mention my mighty 3 amp MFOS power supply.

Thank you for listening, providing support and encouragement for my DIY adventures, and for sharing your creativity in these online streaming events.

thanks stefan for helping me out and streaming my prerecorded performance.! Very Happy

the recurring text is from thoreau's 'walden':
"(...) But men labor under a mistake. The better part of the man is soon plowed into the soil for compost. By a seeming fate, commonly called necessity, they are employed, as it says in an old book, laying up treasures which moth and rust will corrupt and thieves break through and steal. It is a fool's life, as they will find when they get to the end of it, if not before. It is said that Deucalion and Pyrrha created men by throwing stones over their heads behind them:
Inde genus durum sumus, experiensque laborum,
Et documenta damus qua simus origine nati.

Or, as Raleigh rhymes it in his sonorous way,

"From thence our kind hard-hearted is, enduring pain and care,
Approving that our bodies of a stony nature are."

So much for a blind obedience to a blundering oracle, throwing the stones over their heads behind them, and not seeing where they fell. (...)"

wishing all a peaceful 2011

eike

Tensor Sensellation? That's a new one on me, Dave. Is this in addition to or a replacement of Emerald Adrift? How could I have gotten so out of touch? I see your Soundcloud profile has tracks that are seven months old. Please, do tell.

I plan to listen to your and other NYE tracks. Right now, I'm listening to Jez's track. On NYE, I was out in the real world filling in for a fiddle player in my friend's band. Actual income from making music! Can't beat that with a stick!

BTW1, © is available via <option>+G on a Mac. I wish that (P) wasn't left out by Apple. It would be a lot more useful to folks like us than ¬ (<option>+L), for example.

BTW2, a copyright notice doesn't need both the word and the symbol. Either will do. The proper form is:
Copyright year copyright-owner
or
© year copyright-owner
Example:
© 2011 Tensor Sensellation
All three elements must be in the proper order to be considered a proper copyright notice.

As a radio show host, I see many releases that forget to include a copyright notice or use it improperly by leaving off elements or arranging them in an improper order. Legally, people are leaving themselves open to theft of their music due to improper forms of the notice!

Cheers,

Emerald Adrift = a solo project

Tensor Sensellation = a collaborative project with Damon Mar

Flute of the Fallen Tiger = a collaborative project with Palancar

mind8Spiral = a previous, collaborative project with Metlay! + Palancar

Infinity Sideways = a current, collaborative project with Metlay! + Palancar

Etc., etc. — got some more secrets up my sleeve for the future Wink
