Hi,
I´ve got one Micro Modular. I´m using it in most tracks. the only problem with this machine: the editor for OSX won´t work as well, so I have a pc running the editor.

My vote should be "sort of"
I have a nord micromodular that I have had since new in 1999.
I had a 100Mhz pentium I laptop running windows 95 that I edit patches on, but I was recently handed down a vista laptop to use for the same purpose. It works well in vista, but this is basically the only purpose I have for that laptop.
My main computer is a mac, with recent osx.
The osx beta editor is super buggy and crashes constantly - unusable.
Nomad has lots of issues and makes corrupt patches and freezes up my micromodular.
For now, I am living with the editor on vista (which does work well, by the way), with this old windows 95 laptop with a 10" screen as a backup (also works, but crowded little screen), but that all clutters up my studio and makes things more difficult to use than I would like.
However, I really like this synth and will continue to keep some antique computer around if I have to in order to use it.
My use of it comes and goes, but it has stuck with me through a number of different musical projects and always finds a place. I don't think I'll ever get rid of it. Right now I am using it as a backing track machine for live use - lots of step sequencers and sounds setup with different parts of songs. I step through it with a foot switch from my midi controller. |

+1 Micro Modular here, just to keep old style patch available beside my G2 engine... _________________ Breathe life into your sound:

I'm one. I wish I'd have known about this forum sooner. I have to ask you all a question in a second.
I run a keyboard-version g1. |

I have a NM1 rack version. I have always loved it but stopped using after i went over to mac. then a mac editor now started using again. however i do find that the editor is a little unstable and does not like certain other bits of soft/hardware.
now got a G2 as well. why I keep supporting a company that does not support me i'm not sure? maybe because they are fantastic synths |

1 Micro Modular since 1999 - and it gives me new inspirations everyday ;D
I´m using an old win98 laptop to edit sounds - there are also editors for my other synthesizers on it. The editors for MacOSx are horrible - you don´t have fun using them. |

I finally, finally got mine yesterday. I traded in a Jp-8080 for it (no joke). Best. Swap. Ever.
The middle C sharp key is unresponsive though... while it doesn't feel broken in any way. Gotta fix that. |

Interestingly, the guy I bought my G1 Keyboard Expanded with case was asking more for a MS2000 than for the Nord...
I thought it was just crazy, cause the Nord is a much better machine...
It was my first G1, but I've since bought a Micro-Modular, which seems pretty cool too |

+1 Micro modular.
Bought 2nd hand about 5 years ago with a mt4 usb midi port and a laptop with the editor on it. The laptop broke and I cried, I could not get the mt4 to play nicely with xp.
It all ended nicely though about 2 yrs ago somebody introduced me to Linux, which had no problem with an mt4 and I discovered Nomad.
I use it mainly for making partly random Jam tracks to play with.
In fact I discovered this forum because of my MicroMod, I had to re-install Nomad this weekend when I upgraded, and came across this place.
I will have to upload some patches. |
