Friends,

There are so many patches in the NM1 archives that it is sheer overload. It would take forever to go through them all and unfortunately I have to work for a living. I am wondering if any of you can indicate which patches out there you have found the most useful for various tasks. I am not looking for unique one-of-a-kind creations like noodles, but things like:

Best analog synth bassline/lead emulations
Best string/brass emulations
Best effects for guitar/synth/vocals like filters/phasers/vocoders/etc

Can any of you provide your thoughts on such patches? It would be fantastic if we could compile a greatest hits package.

Wow, so 125 views and not a single person can mention any useful patches for everyone's NM1 toolbox? I'm disappointed guys. Sad Oh well.

Don't know ... there are too many patches I guess, I just make a new when I need one. There have been some efforts to categorize NM Classic patches in the past tho ... to be found in the patch archive, that'll make it a bit easier to find patches maybe.

Well, I have never used any of the vast number of patches from the archive or the Clavia factory presets for my own musical projects. I have created my own unique patches for that. The flexible nature of the nord modular makes that almost too easy. Of course, I’m not saying that none of the archive patches are of any use, only that it was very easy and preferable to patch my own (and many of the archive patches can be used to learn great tricks and techniques that you can use with your own patches).

You mentioned that you were not interested with suggestions of noodles, but my list of greatest hit patches from the archive would be mostly comprised of noodles!

Anyway, for classic analog synth sounds, I would suggest that you check out the patches done by Marko Ettlich (in the archive folder Ettlich_Marko). I think that you may find something useful there.
