Hey there. Lost my old login so this is a new one but been around here before. Wink

What I want to do is have a variable probability that a timed event will actually occur. Say it's a drum trigger.

So for example there's an Event Sequencer. Then I'll use a Clocked Random Step Generator going into a Compare to Level for the probability.
The output of both of those goes into a Logic Processor to be ANDed. i.e. to test that both the event and test happen.

It does kind of work but I think there's something not quite right, possibly in the way the compare is being done. I've also tried running both signals through S&H modules running off the same clock which I think might be necessary.

OK, attached a couple of pics but I haven't tested the patches as the Nord isn't hooked up as I type. But should give some idea.

Thanks!

There should be no need for the S&Hs here, as the signals are already clocked anyway ... what is going wrong?

Well it seems to be working fine at the moment.

Of course this is just an example patch and the problem cropped up in something more complex so I wondered if it was something to do with calculation priorities, which was why I thought I'd give the S&Hs a go. What was happening was the pattern of triggering just didn't seem suitably random or consistent with changing the comparison value.

Anyway, thanks Blue Hell. I'll carry on with it, might get back here.
