Last night I sketched up the Minisonic VCF in LTSpice as a learning excersise.
But after playing around for a while I decided to modify it to function as a VCA instead. The mods were quite simple realy, and it works well in LTSpice.
I have attached the schematic i came up with below, and some sound samples of it. To my ears it sounds like it has some of the character of the diode VCF.

So after thinking a little about this, my VCA seems very simmilar now to some of Rene-Schmitz vcas:

This was unintentional, but now im curious if there is any benefit/real difference between the two designs. I was wondering if some smart person had any insight into the differences/drawbacks.

Oops, could a mod perhaps move this topic out of 'Developers Corner' and into 'Diy Hardware and Software' please. Is that a better place to put this. Ta.

I will breadboard this up fairly soon I think.
Here is my plan for how to implement it fully as an AC coupled vca, I hope its clear enough.
