Sad news: WPRB-FM DJ George Mahlberg (aka Dr. Cosmo) passed away last night. They believe it was from complications of diabetes. He was traveling in Mexico (having just moved to California) and was cremated there.

I know many here will remember him as a important friend to the electro-music.community, especially on the east coast. He hosted many MANY electronic bands over the years in the WPRB-FM studios in Princeton, NJ, broadcasting hundreds of live performances and exposing many relatively-unknown bands to the radio public's ears.

He was a fine musician as well, playing Chapman Stick, Theremin, and sitar with Brainstatik many times, and it was always a pleasure to share a studio or stage with him.

WPRB is organizing an on-air tribute to him this Friday, April 8th, likely starting at 10pm EDT during what was Dr. Cosmo's regular time slot. Tune to 103.3 FM if you're local to NJ; otherwise hear it online at www.wprb.com/listen.php. Share your comments and memories as we say goodbye to our dear friend.
