Dead key on Nord Lead 1 - help!!

hey, just got a Nord Lead 1 today and after about a couple of hours or so of playing it one of the keys went silent. I was admittedly pounding the keys pretty hard, although i have to say i'm quite surprised.
the key is still intact and when i opened the hood the spring is reacting the same as the other keys. so i'm guessing it's an issue with the electronics.

any possibility this is something i can fix myself/how to fix? should i return the synth?? it was a pretty good deal, and i was pretty blown away by it at first.

any info would be much appreciated. thanks in advance!!

Hi,

I also bought an NL1 with dead keys but was able to repair it. Mine had some damaged wires on the keyboard PCB, I fixed it by soldering small wires as bypass. I had to reapply the conductive coating of the key contacts (see below).

I bet you problem is caused by just a bit of dirt on those carbon contact under the key. Try to clean it with pure alcohol. If the carbon coating itself is worn or damaged you can replace it by carefully scratching it off and applying new conductive coating like CaiKote 44 (that's what I have used).
