I admire board etchery. That was purely a diagnostic comment/question. I very nearly bought all the items to do it, but I currently have a time-deficit, so I just get small proto-batches done of things usually.

I think to install SP3T switch for square-saw selecting. Correct me if I draw wrong.

It pleases. Will try.
I'm going to build a block of six VCO's with common 10-turn frequency pot and a mixer.
I think to draw own layout and use BC857BS/BC847BS transistors pairs similar to Bergfotron VCO's. It will much cheaper.
Will post the results...

I have had a clone designed of the 258B (not the "C") and can confirm that L-1's 3PDT switch concept works just fine. Thank you! You posted it at the perfect time for my project. A very, very clever observation! I've stared at the 258 schemos for years and never noticed that.

Note that my "clone" is not approved by Don Buchla for public release. He just didn't want anyone to use original artwork, so I had someone CAD up the old schemo plus a few new bits. Not, unfortunately 1V/Octave, but I'm considering it. Could just get a few Plan B Model 15s...

i'm very glad that switch work. Thank you Peake for good news. I have made six boards as described above but still wait for 49K9 resistors from shop and not tested yet.

Wow...Outstanding. I look forward to hearing your finished boards!

I have hundreds of 49K9 resistors if you want me to mail you some (from America, could take a while). I bought a huge batch of them because they are so weird and show up in Buchla designs...

I have finished 3 oscillators. Everything works as excepted. I post docs and photos. Maybe it will be interesting to someone.

This is truly inspiring work L-1, thanks for posting all of this info. Will you post the PCB etch layout also (without the parts overlay)?

Hi:
I etched the Mark Verbos layout, but never build it, I want to see what differences have with your layout, but I can't open the PDF (the archive is damaged error).
Thank you.

Like the idea of the daughterboard solution for the double transistors, but those BC847/857BS aren't exactly abundant, where did you buy them?

I have ordered at Farnell. They are much cheaper then DIP case pairs (SSM2220 etc.) and work very good.

Of course!
This is six osc's through two lopass gates, little bit eq and compression. NO EFFECTS, any delays and reverb. I just play some notes from keyboard.

I'm not familiar (unfortanetly) with SMD, is there any replacement for this?
(DIP array or matche pairs?)
Thanks in advance!

Snaper you can use SSM2220 in the v/oct expo converter and use matched 2N3904 for the other as it's in the original Mark Verbos pdf somewhere on this thread if it isn't removed just gotta watch for the pinout ,thanks L1 for sharing the layout ,it is a great VCO ,i wonder what is the best choice for initial freq pot ,my 258 sounds great to me but the init freq pot can act bit weird when moving from zero ,and soldering those SMD isn't much of big deal ,they are really tiny , but it is actually easy once you try few times
