No problem, I was being hopeful! I love easy explanations for my build issues. |

the pcb-files are on Thomas Whites page for download. I got them and sent them to a local pcb-service to get two of them made.
Why another run? The files are available for home-brewing...

Did you send the artwork that's in the PDF files in his zip package? Or, did you find eagle (or other) PCB files? I don't see that latter files anywhere so I am guessing it's the PDF.
Those look a little tricky for home etching, with my limited experience so sending them out is a good idea. |
i still have the easy single sided layout available:
http://www.modular.fonik.de/Page15.html
however, just the LPG with resonance mod, no additional input mixers... _________________

Thanks for the reminder, that is still a great layout.
Adding the CV and input mixers should not be hard to do on bread board, and adding the Deep switch should be even easier.
It's the etching I'm not keen on doing myself

Sorry but I will have to cancel mine. Thought they were lost in my last move.
Found them. |

Two questions:
1) Have people used the "deep" range to process CVs? It seems like the high-pass filter on the inputs would prohibit that (C6 + R10). Seems like the best option would be a DPDT that connects R19 and bypasses C6 simultaneously. Thoughts?
2) The Makenoise LPG has feedback in all modes, not just filter only mode. How would I wire the 3PDT switch to make that possible?

More important question than the last one:
Can someone fill me on in the difference between the Rev 3.0 and the Rev 3.1 boards? I have three 3.1 boards that work fine, but my single 3.0 board is wasted and I'm wondering what the difference was.
(Seems Thomas White has removed his page on these boards from his site...) _________________ Esoteric drones and nonlinear distortion

OK, found a cold solder joint which explained my problem. In the process, I started to think that Don's arbitrary distinction between CV and audio didn't really suit my style, so I DC coupled the audio inputs. Will report back if anything extremely positive or negative happens. _________________ Esoteric drones and nonlinear distortion

If Thomas White ever returns to the internet, he should consider removing "New Batch", and maybe even "PCBs", from this thread.
Or finally actually come through with the hundred or so boards in response to the long list of "orders" accumulated above. |

So what's happened to Thomas? Did he stare at one of his MFOS sequencers too long, and fall into a trance?

I think he's trapped in his youtube channel.
Actually I think I read somewhere that he's rebuilding his website for whatever reason and that everything will be restored eventually. His synth page is a little on the limited side for now.
I see him selling stuff on the MOTM list now and again, presumably slimming down his rig. Hey, if he needs money I'd bet he could make a couple bucks on some more 292s, but no idea why he gave up that venture. |
