My verdict so far= Lion is OK

That doesn´t mean we should migrate our DAW macs to Lion ASAP, but the future is of the shiny bright type. Bring your RayBans.

–And the full screen mode is pretty perfect for stand alone softsynths. We just have to wait for the updates. Very Happy

Jan, be in for a shock.. Steve Jobs decided to hide the user/library folder... Laughing

That is of course not a problem.. you have full access anyway for instance by means of the "Go to folder" item in the Go meny.

well.. for what it´s worth... now I will most likely never again have to save users who have sorted all their files and apps into suitably named folders inside the user/library
.. and then they would often decide to rename everything inside there so the new names would better describe what they put in there in the first place..

Shocked

I cannot even bloody install it, it gets very confused with my disk systems and just hangs after the first reboot. Even more worrying it buggered the boot area on a disk that i was not even installing to.

The strange thing us the Developer preview installed ok!

I upgraded on the Mini we use in our kitchen - easily the most used computer in the house. The Rosetta removal broke some old software, and some of that is stuff I use on the studio computers, so I'll have to think about that. The gratuitous change in mouse behaviour annoyed all, and was easily undone in system preferences. Lion consumes more memory and CPU than Snow Leopard for the same workload, certainly on a newish Mac Mini.

Yup, there are issues.. or features.. that might not be suitable to sort out on the macs used for music production.

The mail import feature for 10.6x format files is also quite buggy.

Yep,me too.Don't see any need to mess with it just yet.I've learned to avoid being an early adopter.
