From http://the-palm-sound.blogspot.com/2011/08/nodebeat-update.html

New Features

Entirely new user interface design
Drag and drop to add and remove new nodes
Drum Generator Node! NodeBeat now has drums!
Sine, Triangle, Sawtooth, and Square waveform selection
Tempo and BPM controls
Compress recording for faster e-mailing of recordings
Create ringtones from recordings
Sleep Timer. Now you can fall asleep to NodeBeat
Shake to Clear Screen
5 Finger multitouch reset all

I've tried SoundCells, Mixtlkl Free, and Nodebeat. So far NodeBeat has given me the most satisfying experience as a quick to use generative app and the most fun to improvise along with on another instrument such as guitar, even if it doesn't exactly "listen" to what I play on guitar. Looking forward to trying out the update.

Decided to try it out...quite fun! It would be cool if you could assign different waveforms and envelopes to the generators (s this possible now?).

I've been working with Mixtkl (purchased version) and it's been coming along slowly....very deep programming. The last update allws you to do more editing. What really helps now is that there are some deep editing tutorials on Youtube.

At the time I recorded the guitar + Nodebeat duet, waveforms were not selectable.

I installed one update between that version and this latest update. I'll have to re-sync again because now Nodebeat doesn't produce any sound on my iPhone. I might have to update the IOS on the phone too.

I'll probably get the paid Mixtlkl at some point, but I've been enjoying the start up and play ease of use of Nodebeat.
