Hey guys!

Can anyone tell me what kind of sound is used in the following songs and maybe what parameter they are modulating? It is some kind of distortion, but I cant really imagine.

Röyksopp - vision one: 1.50 - 2.10

Or calvin harris - girls: 0.40 - 1.10

Thanks a lot

Greets, nguru23

Hello I am kind of a noob to this forum and electro-music in general. I really like these types of questions even if I'm not the best. You want to ask a dubstep, DnB person because they tweak the bass like crazy. I think you are talking about the buzzy sound like you said is probably distortion .

It also comes with the instruments though. I think something I made is a similar effect. Check out the straightliner VST. If you are into reproducing the part where the bass notes bob back and forth just hold down the notes in the right instrument and that is what they do automatically.

Check out the 2+Gig torrent I posted and give some feedback if you want Smile dig around because I might have used something other than straightliner to achieve a similar sound but the instrument might be in the title.

Hope that helped you or someone else out.
