I just downloaded the latest version. Wow. I will be reading the manual for a bit, but I'm seeing how it works. This is a pretty good app! _________________ Garret: It's so retro.

Yes it's very deep, but like all auto generation apps, you never really get a beginning or an end- just a continuation that meanders and doesn't seem to ever go anywhere!

got the free version, and didn't put enough effort into figuring it out.
If someone can convince me that it's worthwhile i might have another look. generative music is definitely an interest.. |

Of course generative music is 'interesting', but by the time you've set up so many rules and scales, you may as well just have written a proper piece of music with your own brain and emotions. Generative music can/does sound very cold and sterile, and the end product is often more appealing to either those who are also interested in generative music, or those who aren't really listening at all! (Muzak).
Of course, this is soley my opinion, but I'm sure that there are others who would agree. _________________ ACHTUNG!

Boy are you in a curmudgenly mood today.
I set up cell rules to keep objects in a less wandering key, and it looks like it's got ability to structure (sequence) objects, so although I'm not expecting masterpieces, it'll work well enough for what I am looking for.
Even without reading the manual yet, it's understandable. _________________ Garret: It's so retro.

Personally I can't stand it's interface! I find it totally counter-intuitive!

I'm still wrapping my head around it. I work with it a couple of days then put it down for a couple. The fact that it contains Noatikle is pretty cool. I was messing around with the demos but for me things didn't really start to click until I started from scratch using the Noatikl Seed set.... And I also am not thriiled with the gui...... _________________ Dave

I tried this for a while, decided (possibly a bit premature) that it wasn't worth the time, deleted it. I agree with V, it's counterintuitive... But maybe I just needed to spend more time on it. _________________ Muied Lumens Sub Forum

... come to think of it, Koans are counterintuitive too, so maybe it all makes sense, then. Or not. _________________ Muied Lumens Sub Forum

Try NodeBeat. I found it more immediately accessible.
I'll still keep Mixtkl on my iPhone though. _________________ Current and recent work on Soundcloud

I still love Nord Modular noodles.
Improvising on another instrument in "duets" with auto-gen music can lead to new compositions. That's how I came up with one of my most recent pieces. _________________ Current and recent work on Soundcloud
