Subject description: train travel to/from Huguenot via Port Jervis
Reply with quote  Mark this post and the followings unread

If anyone was planning on using the train to/from Port Jervis it appears that the tracks were damaged by the recent hurricane and will be out of acyion for some time.

The train now only runs to/from Suffern

I spoke to NJ Transit yesterday and they told me there is a bus service between Harriman and Ramsay Route 17

There appears to be a bus service, but it's commuter only so runs early/late and certain buses only run in week or at weekend but not both

Here's the NY - Port Jervis timetable

Unfortunately for me the return trip is either really early or too late for me to get my flight, so I'm still looking into other options

Jez - not sure when you need to leave to get to your plane...unfortunately I have to work on Monday - but check the High Bridge or Hackettstown links - maybe you can get to those from Bills house?

Dave, Bill might be able to drop me off at one of those on the way back. but it's a bit out of his way, so still exploring options

Thanks Jez. I am game to meet in Newark early AM thursday and drive instead, if you or anyone else wants to do that route.

Jack, I'm getting a lift with Bill up to Huguenot from Nazareth, but thanks anyway, my problem is getting back from Huguenot to Newark on Monday
