Hmm... no one else has a problem....
Try replacing your midi cables. Are your keyboards/controllers set to send midi? Is there any midi signal present before your cable meets the mobilizer? _________________ ACHTUNG!

I have been using my iPad 2 with MIDI without problems. I have found two methods that work reliably for me.
1. Software
DSMI WIFI MIDI + Ad-Hoc Networking
Load the DSMI app (http://dsmi.tobw.net/) on your host PC and then set up an ad-hoc network on and connect with your iPad.
2. Hardware
USB Camera Connection Kit + M-Audio UNO USB MIDI Cable
This is the most reliable setup I have found. It works with every App I had tried that does not rely on OSC exclusively for MIDI communication.
Hope this help you. I live what I can do on the iPad 2. It is not perfect, but it opens a lot of avenues for MIDI control. I cannot wait for what the next generation multi-touch interfaces will bring. _________________ Web Site - Encyclotronica |

Which apps are you trying to use with the mobilizer? I thought I saw in some of the apps that you had to set the app for either the Core midi or Mobilizer midi. Some settings are accessed directly from teh app - others you need to go into the iPad settings icon - usually apps are down towards the bottom.... _________________ Dave

| So i decided it must be the line 6 mobilizer meesing up the midi and forked out for an IPAD camera attatchment. Bingo the midi out worked perfectly and pretty solid too. however everything stops when i try to ext clock it ie send any midi in... trying to be glass half full about this one |

If you are using EXT clock then you must have a hardware synth or computer app (whatever you are connected to) that is transmitting MIDI Clock. It's not just Midi notes. What are you connecting into? (hardware and apps) _________________ Dave

I assume that you have Genome set to receive external sync? I'll check tonight and see if I can get Genome to sync to external clock. I'll be using Reaper, but that shouldn't make a big difference. There could be issues with Genome as it's a pretty new app iirc.
I'm assuming that the three hardware pieces are all working in sync with Protools ok?
You might try swapping the ports around on teh midi interface just to make sure that all four are working ok. _________________ Dave

Hi,
There is a known issue with logic / protools stuff since they work a little differently than other apps with regards to sync (they don't send a Sync Start message except in the beginning of the song). We are working on a fix for this and hope to get it into the next version.
Thanks!

Thanks I can't say exactly when the next version might be released, but it could be another week or two. I'm working on getting it done as fast as I can, but there are a number of things I'm trying to get into this release. If you'd like to get in on the beta testing group to get access sooner, contact me thru the website (www.whitenoiseaudio.com) and I'll set you up. I'd love to have some more logic / protools people to test it out. |
