CMOS ICs, buffered or unbuffered?

I have ordered some MFOS ADSRs, and i was just wondering, some of the CMOS ICs come in buffered and unbuffered versions, does it make any difference which one i get?

Which parts are you talking about specifically?
I built one of those ADSRs a while back, and didn't order anything special.

the CD40106 hex Schmitt trigger comes in buffered and unbuffered versions, at the same price, i was wondering because i built something a while back and the instructions said to only use the unbuffered one.

Unbuffered is special enough to be explicitly mentioned usually ... usually you'll want buffered.

For certain analog trickery with CMOS unbuffered can be used.

I think i remeber what the thing is that wanted certain unbuffered CMOS, it was the CGS wasp filter. (which i still haven't finished)
