hi there,

I found a little piano and I wanted to opened it up and see what i could change...

but then i found out there was only this ugly black blob blocking the entire circuit Sad although there was something I could do inside...

And now my question: I showed it to my friend and he said that i could link an oscillator to use a function of the piano that played notes on itself in a certain pattern. So now i made a very fast or slow( i used an LDR) autonomously playing piano!

here is the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xrp2mABohm8

please give your comments or tips Smile

Have you considered bending that piano with a claw hammer? Laughing

Just kidding - looks like you're having fun!

well one thing you can do is turn the LDR into a vactrol for more control.
you could use a simple LFO made with 2 opamps for square/triangle waves
and hook it up to it,. or maybe a simpe 4017 sequencer so you can create
more rhytmic effects. usually those boards have at least one resistor to
change the pitch which you could replace with a potentiometer or/and
another LDR/vactrol. But I have seen circuits before that only have a black
blob so maybe that's all you got. In that case or even if there is a resistor
you could also try powerstarving. just hook up a potentiometer in series with
the power input, this might create some interesting effects or it doesn't work
at all. good look and have fun exerimenting! Cool
