hello

please, can somebody explain how the 2nd voice is determined, when i have a patch with seqlev1 sequencer switched in polyphonic mode?
sounds like the 1st voice transposed to me, but i'm not able to find a way how to set the amount of transposition, or even better how to make a completely different sequence for the 2nd voice...(could save some processing power / seems that for example the oscilator in 2 voice poly mode doesn't use as much resources as 2 oscilators in monophonic...)

edit: i apologize, i created this thread in FAQ by mistake. please move it to subforum where it belongs...thanks

There is a really long answer to this but i am at work so am going to try and keep it short.

The second voice is just playing the same monophonic sequence but with an interval based on the second note you played on the keyboard (or last played on the keyboard). So by using the keyboard and pressing two notes you could get it to play the same sequence but split by the notes you choose on the keyboard, the keyboard becomes an offset so to speak.

With regards to programming the monophonic sequencer polyphonically it is actually possible with the piano roll style sequencer but you will only be able to see one of the sequences. Maybe do a search as I am sure there was a topic on this quite some time ago.. and I am pretty sure there is a patch somewhere that does it.

That said I would recommend that you just use several sequences in the mono area and send the midi back to your patch in the poly area if you want a polyphonic sequence.

Cheers

Ross
