hey !

i'm currently bulding a synth-thing more or less based on ray's original wsg:

http://musicfromouterspace.com/forums.html?MAINTAB=SYNTHDIY&PROJARG=THE_CAVE/Your%20First%20Synth/Your%20First%20Synth.htm&VPW=1024&VPH=500

the osc section works well, allthough i'm not quite sure wether R17 functions as it is intended to do (it basically does nothing but i'm pretty sure i wired/proto-boarded it correctly) but the filter section's bothering me.

it doesn't change the sound "filterish" but reduces the overall functionality and quality in sound. when the filter section is connected to the output of the osc section R19 seems not to work anymore and the output volume is way too quiet. i have already tried everything to fix that filter problem but nothing did work at all. can anyone of you give me any advice what to do?

Sounds like you've wired something wrong, I suspect U1-C if R17 does nothing.
Use the half split method (for fault finding) get out your 'scope and see if there is a signal coming out after that U1C oscillator.
