Ok this question might sound dumb but I just want to make sure. I got a second hand micro modular without manual. The pdf manual I download from clavia website only mentions that NM1 has a on/off switch.

Sure I can turn it on/off by plugging/unplugging the power supply, but will it corrupt patches in micro modular's memory? To protect mm, Should I connect the psu to the power source then plug it into mm? Thanks!

larme, welcome to electro-music.com

Great question. I just got a used NM micro too. I've just been leaving mine plugged into my power strip and I switch that off/on. So far, no problems with lost patches.

I have blown up too many pieces of gear to remember by plugging in a DC connector from the wall wart into a piece of equipment while the wall wart is plugged into the live mains. The last two, that I remember, are a Roland A-37 midi controller and a Kurzweil PCx2. I don't want to add any NMs to that list.
