And more sad news at the closing of the year.

Mel Morley passed away recently as well.

May you rest in peace Mel.

This is really sad. I just spoke to him on the phone. Maybe 3 weeks ago. He has been in and out of the hospital, but he sounded pretty upbeat. He love electro-music.com, especially the live events. He came to several events in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He love music. He will be missed

I knew that Mel was in the hospital on Christmas Day, and my wife told me to call him, but of course Christmas time is always so busy. Mel used to call me out of the blue, last time was while I was in England this summer, I called him as soon as I got home. I think that he is the only person besides me to play Scrabble-to-MIDI in a gig. Among other things, he requested a way to load the game with cheat words. Very Happy

Here's is a photo from Pocono Skies in May 2010, when Mel and I went shopping, and I was lucky enough to have a camera in my pocket. I tried to talk him into buying a cowboy hat.

I met both Mel and Richard while staying in the cast house for 4 days at Pocono Skies. Mel and I got to hang out quite a bit, and to play together at EM2010. I will definitely miss him.

RIP Mel

I called Mel shortly after returning home from EM2011 to tell him that I missed his precense at the event. He had just gotten out of the hospital, but sounded as upbeat as I had ever seen him. He was truly a ray of sunshine.

Mel was unique and a special soul. We spoke with each other regularly, and we missed him at EM this year. I will always remember Mel fondly.

Mel's obituary is posted here. According to a post on his Facebook page, his ashes will be making their way to family in Israel.
