Nice! Also, check out the videos at:

http://store.curiousinventor.com/guides/

and I recommend this book:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004L9KN80/

If you don't own a Kindle, you can download a free Kindle app for PC, Mac, phone, etc...

Regards,
Doug

Is there a dedicated place here for tutorials? Things like, how to get started in DIY, how to pick a schematic capture and board layout package, what is SPICE and how to use it, whether to etch boards or have them made, etc...

Regards,
Doug

I don't think there is. This section just got kind of thrown together, and then some sense was made of it later, but I think that's a good idea. Why don't you PM Howard? Unfortunately, I don't have the ability to set that up, because I'm not an admin.

I actually know a guy who knows Aaron, and he directed me to his class notes as well as the videos: http://users.ece.gatech.edu/~lanterma/ems10/ I haven't gotten very far, but definitely looks like a good resource.

Coming into this a little late but, if you want some in-depth tutorials... actually an MIT course, check out https://6002x.mitx.mit.edu/ or their "Circuits and Electronics" lecture series via iTunes U.

It's the entire introductory semester of EE.

I've started watching these over the past few months during my commute to work and am really enjoying them.

There are also some great lectures on allaboutcircuits.com

Yes, great video Bubzy. I learnt a lot! It's a fine art balancing the pcb manufacturing process in a kitchen AND having a wife. Laughing I CAN see how it makes perfect sense using your acetone as nail varnish remover. I'd imagine you'd get a different response if you used her nail varnish remover on your pcb's!

Thanks for the great links guys!

Martin Lorton has some pretty sleek videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0HXEI_Lk3Qo

This links to the start of his beginner tutorial but he's also got hardware review, Arduino, news, etc.

Awesome tut on Kirchoff: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IlyUtYRqMLs

Here's the book that got me started, its GREAT for beginners as it sorta works like a 'workbook' with projects of ever-increasing difficulty that buid on each other. The best part is EVERY project ends with you having some sort of neat electronic instrument---most for LESS than yr daily coffee fix.
VERY COOL:

also Collins personal page:

I found this searching for euro rack modules but I suspect it has implications for all new synth builders:

Has anyone considered contributing to the EM Wiki?

This guy gives detailed, step-by-step instructions to breadboard and build a pretty decent v/oct VCO similar to Rene Schmitt's 4093 VCO, with a lot of especially helpful explanations of theory as well. I reckon this is suitable for even absolute beginners! like me (。-∀-)

I made this as a bit of a circuit review for our new junior-level "Fundamentals of ECE Design" course at Georgia Tech. Enjoy!

Probably a reasonably good time to update the links to your previous videos as well, Aaron, since the one I gave up above years ago is long dead....

Here, I go through the inverting amp, non-inverting amp, and voltage buffer (which, really, is just a special case of the non-inverting amp structure):
