Subject description: Should I build one??!

Hi,

This is my first post! I've recently built a x0xb0x and am looking to start a new DIY project and the soundlab mini II is tickling my fancy, but before I dive in I wanted to ask a few questions.

Firstly, I can see a lot of posts on the mini, but not the mini II. Looking at the MFOS website it seems like the II has some extra features/improvemenst but can't find many people who have made it. Is there a reason why I should build one over the other? is the II somehow not as good?

The other question is about calibration. I don't have an oscilloscope. I managed to build the x0xb0x using a soundcard one, which was kind of crappy, but would it do the job for building a soundlab?

Cheers!

the mark 2 has only been out for a few months now, that's probably why you don't see any build reports. I've built the SL Plus and it's great, but I'd recommend building the MK2, just because a lot of the circuits have been upgraded to better design. Calibration is def possible without an oscilloscope.

OK, great, well maybe I'll give it a go and be one of the first to post about it. Thanks.

BUILD IT! It is essentially a Sound Lab Ultimate, minus a Oscillator. Ray's designs are top notch, and his layouts and schematics are very clearly laid out. As long as you take your time and triple check all of your values and off board wiring, you won't go wrong.

Bass sounds are pretty sick on them. Envelopes are snappy. Take a listen to
The seventh track (Dimensional Plane) on my site. The entire song is just the Soundlab and vocals (vocals processed through soundlab as well).
